A hard, well fought game against a firmly established Essex RL side see the Knights unusually put in a good display, without getting on the score board. For the first 20 mins the Knights showed promise with set completion after set completion and totally matching the Sharks physicality. This was a massive improvement since the last game. However, the bigger, stronger and more experienced Sharks knew the game was for 80 mins and gradually wore the Knights down winning 54 – 0.
Not the end to the season the Knights wanted, but such a huge progression since the first training session a few months ago. Having only played 5 games, and managing to fulfil all their fixtures in their inaugural year, the Knights and especially Head Coach Tony Musgrave, should be hugely proud.
The Knights now look forwarded to season 2022 and what that has instore for Rugby League in the Southeast.
